First XVIII Debut

After a year off from football recovering from a knee reconstruction Viv Russo son of club stalwarts Fred and Peta makes his official senior debut this weekend against Katandra. Viv is a skilful young player who reads the play as well as anyone in the game. Viv showed his determination and commitment when he was struck down with a serious knee injury and underwent surgery requiring 12 months of recovery. During this time Viv worked hard, completing all the required rehabilitation work and building up in the gym to show his commitment to football and also setting a great example of what hard work and a great attitude can bring to his friends and teammates. Viv has played a number of representative level games excelling in each and has always worn the swans jumper and represented his club with great pride. As junior sub last week Viv’s services were called upon early which allowed him to show that he is more than ready for senior football with a display of football smarts that defies his young years! This display led to Viv being selected this week in the starting 22 which is testament and reward for an exciting and talented young player and a terrific young clubman. Congratulations Viv, this is the start of what we are sure will be a long and successful football career in the red and white!
