Congratulations to Ben Whitford who had a late call up for the seniors on Saturday to make his First XVIII Debut against Tocumwal.
Ben started his football career in the red and white as a Fourths player at the age of 13. Throughout this time Ben has been a key player and well respected by his peers through his junior football. Although suffering a string of injuries you could always count on Ben to turn up to support his teammates every week. Ben is a head down, tough at the ball player, that has very good agility on his feat with a low centre of gravity. Ben plays as a roving forward complementing the talls to capitalise on the ball when it comes to ground. Bens’ ambition is to be a key change for the onballers in the centre. A member of the 2019 Thirds Premiership side, and with all but 3 players still involved with the club, Ben is keen to play finals again and secure another flag for the mighty Swans as a senior player in the future. Ben is a pleasure around the club, always quick to help, have fun and to share a laugh with.
Well done Ben on achieving your initial goals with a lot more to be realised in the future.
