550 Club Games

An incredible milestone will be reached this weekend as Rachael Howden takes the court for her 550th netball game in the red and white of the Katunga Football Netball Club.

Starting her journey with the Swans at just 9 years old, Rach has become a cornerstone of the club — not only through her exceptional playing career but also her leadership and service off the court.

Over the years, Rach has achieved remarkable success, with five premierships to her name as both a player and coach.

Her on-court excellence has been consistently recognised with numerous League and Club Best and Fairest awards, across several grades, highlighting her talent, commitment, and consistency at the highest level, but its not just the silverware that defines Rach's career. Beyond her playing achievements, Rach is also a decorated A Grade Badged umpire, respected throughout the region for her knowledge of the game and fairness, as well as a PDFNL & KFNC Life Member.

Her contributions have extended into administration, having served as a long-time Club Secretary, where she plays a pivotal role in keeping the club strong and united. The words could continue to flow, but actions speak louder than words & Rach is a woman of action, which we have all witnessed over the many years at this club.

Rach is more than just a player — she is a leader, a mentor, and an inspiration to generations of Katunga netballers. Game 550 is a testament to her loyalty, resilience, and unwavering passion for the game and the club she loves. As the final whistle blows in the C Grade game Saturday Afternoon, Rach will once again carve her name into the Katunga Football Netball Club history books.

Congratulations, Rach, on this extraordinary achievement. The entire Katunga community celebrates you!
