150 Open Age Club Games

It’s raining milestones this weekend as we celebrate a whopping seven players. Stepping up to help out as only he knows how is Chris ‘Skeeta’ Bethell playing his 150^th Open Age club game, Ryan Russo and Ivy Henderson their 100^th club game, whilst Beau Milne, Indi Brennan, Ruby Frederickson and Ruby Scouller celebrate 50 club games.

Since first pulling on the red and white as a junior Chris has been the ultimate club person. While these days he’s usually seen in the trainers’ gear rather than a playing jumper, this milestone is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the club. Skeeta as he is affectionately known hasn’t played a full season since 2013, making this 150-game milestone a long time in the making. But true to his club-first attitude, whenever numbers have been tight over the past 13 years, Chris has never hesitated to pull the boots back on and help ensure a team could take the field. Time and again, he has put the club ahead of himself, filling in wherever needed and doing whatever he could to support his teammates. Away from playing, Chris has made an enormous contribution through coaching, team management, training, committee work, grant applications, and as one of the driving forces behind the introduction of the Fifths competition. A two-time Don Harrison Club Person of the Year recipient, his impact on the Katunga Football Netball Club extends far beyond the field. Congratulations Chris on reaching 150 Open Age games. Your dedication, loyalty, and selfless commitment to the Swans is enormous and we are so lucky to have you in our community.
