This week is National Volunteer Week which shines a spotlight on the heart and soul of community clubs ~ our volunteers. These individuals are the unsung heroes who dedicate their time and energy to ensure that sports and recreational activities can thrive. From the meticulous planning required to organise game days to the commitment of those who show up every week to fulfil various roles, their contribution is invaluable. The seamless execution of each training night, gameday and associated functions is a testament to their hard work behind the scenes. It's a collective effort that not only supports the players but also fosters a sense of community and belonging. Recognising and appreciating these volunteers is essential, as they are the pillars that uphold the spirit and success of the club. This week we will recognise many of these volunteers who have and continue to bestow their time week in week out for the betterment of our beloved sport and community.
But first we want to thank each and every one of you who fulfil your rostered duties throughout the year. On home games we rely on average around 110 volunteers each week and on away games between 60-70 volunteers, many of these roles are being undertaken by the same people week in week out. It’s for this reason that it is so important that everyone takes their turn when rostered and offer your assistance wherever you can, and we thank each and every one of you for doing so.
Without your help the club wouldn’t be what it is today, and we pride ourselves on having such a wonderful band of volunteers! THANK YOU!
