In the last game of the Home and Away season we celebrated an incredible milestone as Kate Towe – affectionately known as Towie – took to the court for her 500th Picola and District Football Netball League game.
From her early days with the Wunghnu Magpies, a club she still holds dear, to her long and decorated tenure with the Waaia Bombers, and now continuing her journey with the Katunga Swans, Towie’s impact has been felt far and wide. Her career is not just defined by longevity, but by the passion, leadership, determination and commitment she brings to every game.
Towie’s record speaks for itself: multiple League Best and Fairest awards, countless club honours and premiership glory. Beyond these achievements, it’s Towie’s fierce competitive spirit and deep love for the game that has truly set her apart. Known for her love of stats, Towie has always been as sharp off the court as she is on it, analysing every play and matchup. More than just a player, Towie is a role model, a leader, and a teammate you always want by your side.
Congratulations, Towie – a true champion of the game. Your legacy is etched in every pass, intercept, and goal denied. Here’s to 500 PDNFL games of brilliance, and the inspiration you continue to provide.
